Beautiful Baths and More

This beautiful remodeling project shows you brass is back, and it can be stunning! Bires Remodeling had remodeled the kitchen first and then the client called the company for more projects. This time, Bires Remodeling renovated a powder room, the master bath, and the master closet.
Dean Bires, the president of Bires Remodeling, says the master bath was especially challenging. “The bathroom had a number of structural issues. We had to install new beams, among other things. The beauty is in the detail. Everything had to line up perfectly in order for things to work properly. The beauty of good design is making complex work look simple and seamless. The tile is lined up perfectly with the plumbing penetrations. It was an extremely detailed rough in procedure.”
The shower has a custom made stainless steel support system that you don’t see. It’s made with solid Carrrera Marble. “It took the talents of some great tile setters and the imagination of a good designer”, said Bires.
You might be surprised to see marble in a bathroom, where it’s exposed to water on a regular basis. Bires says the secret is in the installation and sealing. When asked what types of trends this project reflects, Bires says, “The days of the multiple shower heads are dying down. We are seeing more steam showers and more heated floors.” Bires went on to say that the company is also seeing fewer bathtubs in new homes and when remodeling the master bath. However, when the homeowners do want a tub, they are getting free standing tubs.
